This is NOT a generic photo these are the actual rocks you will receive when ordering! And all orders are mailed out "next business day", shipping included! Also known as "scoria" or "cinder", they were hand-picked directly from the Springerville Volcanic Field, near the White Mountains of east-central Arizona.
The most recognizable features of scoria are the pockmarks appearing all along its surface. When these rocks were expelled from the volcanos that were active here between 300,000-1.5 million years ago, hot gases were captured within the molten rock. As it cooled, the gas was trapped, leaving thousands of tiny "pores" within the rock itself.
